You Can Be More
The youcanbemore.co.uk website is a new hypnotherapy, nlp and coaching site. Sandra contacted me about setting up this site a little while back. It took sometime to come up with a template that she liked as examples on the internet are few and far between. Most sites in that category appeared to be built using a generic website builder like the ones you get for free with most web hosting or were "watch on a chain" types. I put together a few designs and Sandra chose one with some pictures to go with it from photo stock sites. Like Sandra, I'm very pleased with the end result.
KatAlyst Productions
The katalystproductions.org.uk website belongs to Kat Rogers and Andy Mills. Andy put together a design of how he wanted the home page to look and I made it into a website template. Apart from the home page, I put together a few of the other pages including the About Us page, The Bull Theatre page and the Past Productions pages. Andy and Kat provided the wording and the pictures and Andy put together the remaining pages. The About Us page uses the sidebar to select a team member and find out more about them and the Past Production pages use a similar technique but also have a photo gallery for each production. The pictures on the About Us page and those in the photo galleries can be clicked on to enlarge and have a lightbox type effect. The site uses PHP and the basic hosting package at 123-Reg doesn't have PHP so they moved the site to SupaDom.
Pro-Tech Roof Solutions
The Pro-TechRoofSolutions.com website belongs to Tom Fox and Richard Vince. They had a few issues trying to put together a website themselves and contacted me. I designed a new site and got it up and running in a couple of days. We then added some extra content pages when they became available. The top graphic and logo were designed by Maria Fox. The site is hosted at JustHost. Some of the pages have nice features like the dynamic PHP 5 photo gallery and the roof viewer using Google Earth/Maps.
Collaborative
The Collaborative.org.uk website belongs to Sandra Brown. She had been running her business for sometime and wanted to give her website a fresh look when she contacted me. I worked up some examples and she made her selections and provided me with the text and images she wanted to include. The site was designed by me but the top graphic came from TemplatesBox although I had to amend it. The site was being hosted by 123-Reg at the time but it is now hosted at SupaDom because it is better value for money.
Ad Astra Driving School
The DriveAdAstra.com.au website belongs to Craig and Sharon Brooke. They contacted me shortly after they emigrated to Australia as they were setting up a driving school. They provided me with some graphics and wording and I built the site. The navigation uses a method known as hijax, which is based on ajax but has a nice fallback to normal page navigation for users with JavaScript disabled. The site is hosted in Australia even though it is quite expensive there. Their business has been very successful and had 50 driving test (practical) passes in the first year of trading. I have just recently added the Keys 2 Drive logo and an extra page about the vehicles.
Parchment Patterns
The ParchmentPatterns.com website belongs to my wife, Gilly Howe. Gilly wanted a site to sell the parchment craft patterns that she designs and she purchased the Interspire Shopping Cart for this purpose. I had previously created my own shopping cart but that site was for physical goods rather than digital downloads so it was easier to purchase the Interspire one. I had to modify the shopping cart software to give it the functionality that Gilly required. I also look after technical side of the site like the upgrades that Interspire release. She has a periodic newsletter, which I run for her via Stored Email. The site is hosted at SupaDom. This site has been quite successful although she didn't really need to go for the Professional edition of the Interspire Shopping Cart as there are many features she does not use so the Starter edition would have done, which is much cheaper.
Feel Good Now!
The FeelGood-Now.co.uk website belongs to Sallie Crawley. Sallie contacted me to get her new site up and running. She purchased a template from HyperTemplates and I set about modifying it so that it could be used for her site. Originally the template in Adobe Flash was meant for a photographers gallery. Sallie had a lot of textual content she wanted to include which it wasn't designed for, plus she wanted lots of modifications to the layout, like removing the photo navigation. In the end we decided to scrap the Flash side of things and just use the photos that she liked. I created a template based on the original Flash template and took the music and photos from the template. It utilises a JavaScript technology known as Ajax to swap the photo and page content when changing pages without restarting the music score, which it does when changing pages without Ajax. The site has always been hosted at hosted at Freeola.
GoneClear
The GoneClear.co.uk website was built for a group of clubbers and it enabled visitors to get on the guest lists of many of London's most prestigious night clubs. Initially, I was contacted when their existing site was having security issues and I helped them to repair their data and secure it from other attacks. They decided to go for a re-design as they wanted to include new functionality and more advanced security features, so they contacted me again and I set about rewriting the site. One of the guys added the photo album and GC connect pages himself although I helped to integrate it into the management system that I had written for the site. The guest list administration was all done through the management system on the site and I had included a lot of other features that they didn't use. The site is no longer operational as the site owners turned their attentions elsewhere but I have a demonstration setup on this site where you can register, login and join guest lists but as this is a demonstration only, you will not really be added to the clubs guest lists.
